Four years ago I started a big adventure... After I had received my secondary school diploma, I was ready for a new challenge. I chose the study ‘Communications - International Event Music and Entertainment Studies’ at Fontys, Academy for Creative Industries. I could not wait to start this study and show what I could do.

I have learned a lot during the last four years, not only about Communication, but also about myself. This study has increasingly made me a communication expert, which I am very proud of. Projects, communication plans, seminars, presentations and exams, I have completed everything well.

Because I had my own room in Tilburg in my first year, I became independent and I was able to expand my network. I have met many people and learned a lot. Furthermore, my two internships and my minor in Kuala Lumpur developed me personally really well. During this minor, I followed courses at University, which was totally different for Applied University. I also spent three months traveling in Asia, which I enjoyed a lot. My two internships at ING and Unilever have made me who I am: a hard worker who wants the best result and who is flexible and sometimes a perfectionist. I have learned from these internships to look for challenges, to make it easier to contact people from other cultures and create many chances for myself. These internships have made me realize what I do and don’t want to do in the future.

I am very aware that I should take all opportunities that I can take. It is important to enjoy the things you do. Eventually you can decide yourself what you want to do, in order to create a beautiful life. Therefore, I have decided to do a backpack tour after this study, to see more of the world and get to know new cultures and people. Try to make the most out of life, because after all, we only live once. Take the challenges you want to take and develop yourself into the person you want to be.
