OTHER ACTIVITIES
Visualizing
All the different choices, colors and options ... Everything seemed similar. It took many hours to be good in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. A year later I can’t live without it and I love making mood boards and editing pictures all day long. People always say "practice makes perfect" and I have proved this. During the time I made a big collection of visual creations. From mood boards to logos and from posters to concept books. Next to this text you can see some creations I have made. They are posters, menus and placemats I made for various cafés. This is what I like to do besides photographing. It is an educational, creative passion that I will remain long!

Rowing association 'Vidar'
I am a member of the rowing club since my first student year in Tilburg. This association has a positive influence on me;
I learned a lot about myself and a real friendship, how to organize a big festival for 500 people, to be creative in different ways, to improve my personal skills and to be a great Secretary of the board of the club Papillon and President of the commission for the freshman's at the rowing association. In the beginning I did not know anybody, but you got to know more people in a few weeks. Now I’m a more open person and make friends more easily. Hereby, my network has been expanded. It is so nice to get to learn so many different students; everyone has their own qualities, so there is always someone you can learn from and who can help you. To be a member of the rowing association is one of the best decisions in my life; it made my student life complete.
I also made some posters for the rowing association. The kart poster is for an event I have organized. It was a huge
event in Tilburg, with a party and a kart tournament simultaneously. During my time at the rowing association,
I have done the following things:
August 2014 – Till present
Member of the ‘Lustrum Almanac Commission’ of the board of the club Papillon.
This is a club of the rowing association at Tilburg that consists of about thirty people.
I am responsible for the layout, design and content of the almanac.
August 2013 – August 2014
The secretary of the board of the club Papillon.
I arrange the internal and external communication of the club.
February 2013 – February 2014
Member of the ‘Online Promotion Commission’ at the rowing association of Tilburg.
I kept the online promotion for the association, such as Facebook and Twitter, up to date.
August 2013 – February 2014
President of the commission for the freshmen’s at the rowing association of Tilburg.
I made agendas, organized several meetings and events, and put everyone to work.

Participant IDEA Talent Scout 2015
In November 2015 I participated in the IDEA Talent Scout. During this day, students from the events industry could pitch their vision or idea about this industry. I pitched about the attention economy:
"Everything is about attention. This is in particular due to the large technical developments. Everything and everyone is connected to each other and is screaming for attention. Because of that one of the biggest challenges nowadays is gaining attention, since nowadays audiences will loose focus where they are at this moment.
To what extent are people still able to get the live communication? Will the live communication move into digital communication? I think live communication remains provisional, but we have to watch out for emerging digital communications. We need to find out where and when people have their focus on the environment, how we can really touch the consumer and how we retain their attention.
For this problem there is no ready-made solution, but the event industry may see this as an opportunity. Visitors should have a sense of calmness and relaxation and they should get away from the crowds. We need to keep emotion, rest and structure more interesting than smartphones.
How can I, as a young professional, ensure that the live communication is still reaching the people? This is the challenge of the event industry. Overcoming the attention economy, that we are creating together.”
Unfortunately I haven’t won this pitch, but I got a lot of compliments after the pitch from different judges and visitors.
